2011 GTHC Christmas Party
The 2011 Christmas Party was a lot of fun again this year. Our party was held in the church hall where we hold our monthly meetings. Food was prepared and brought by members for all to enjoy. The clubs treasury funded the purchase of Turkey, Ham and some of the vegetables.
Those of us who attended this year's Christmas Party had a fabulous time. Everyone that was there pitched in to help set up the tables, put on table cloths, set up the sterno serving area, and set up the dessert and beverage areas. The food was cooked to perfection and the conversations were great. Then when it was all over, once again everyone pitched in to clean up which only took about ten minutes.
What did we have to eat you may ask? Just so you'll know what you missed there is a menu below of everything we had to feast on, and feast we did. Everything was so delicious people were going back for seconds and thirds. When everyone had their fill there was still plenty of food left over. Quite a few people brought home some of the goodies so they could enjoy the party all over again. Needless to say, this party was a great hit.
When the eating was over, and people's stomachs were filled to capacity it was time for the "Yankee Gift Swap" to take place. Those that brought a gift were entitled to play the game. Club president Ron was the MC for this event. Just because you're the first one to pick a gift, that doesn't mean that you'll be going home with it. With this gift swap anyone can steal what you thought was already yours. It's great fun and everyone involved had a great time. There were quite a few different and nice prizes this year. There were no winners or losers as everyone that brought a gift got one in exchange.
A great big special "Thank You" go out to the people who went out of their way to not only bring food to the party, but to take the time out of their busy schedule this time of year to make the Home Made Food that we all enjoyed.
Secondly, also a big special "Thank You" goes out to our President, Ron S. and his wife for cooking the Ham, and to 2012's Vice President, Paul B. and his wife who cooked the Turkey, made the Gravy, Cranberry Sauce and Relish.
